Who we are

VA Inspection Stations is an independent directory. We are not affiliated with the Virginia State Police, the Virginia DMV, or any inspection chain. Listings are reader-submitted and free.

Information we collect

• Information you submit. If you add or correct a station via our submit form, or submit a sponsorship via our advertise page, we collect the details you enter (such as business name, address, phone, website, logo, and contact email).
• Account information. If you sign in (admin use only), we store your email address and authentication tokens through our authentication provider.
• Payment information. Sponsorship payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card details — Stripe handles that directly.
• Basic technical information. Like most websites, our hosting provider logs standard request data (IP address, user agent, referring page, timestamps) for security and operational purposes.

How we use information

• To display station listings and sponsor profiles in the directory.
• To respond to corrections, submissions, and questions.
• To process sponsorship payments and manage active listings.
• To keep the site running, secure, and free of abuse.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal information.
• We don't ask visitors for credit card numbers, banking credentials, or passwords to view listings.
• We don't send marketing email to people who haven't asked to hear from us.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of service providers to run the site:

• Hosting & database — for serving pages and storing listing data.
• Stripe — for sponsorship payment processing.
• Authentication provider — for admin sign-in.

Cookies

We use a minimal set of cookies required for the site to function, such as keeping an admin user signed in. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

Your choices

If you'd like a listing you submitted updated or removed, or if you have a privacy question, contact us via the submit form and we'll take care of it.
